Essential ingredients for a glorious spring and early summer:
A few princesses. At least as many playboys. Outstanding wines. A pinch of dream trips. The peaceful Swiss countryside and also along the banks of the Gironde. And finally, take time-out for a nice pastis without looking at your watch while imagining today is on us.
For all of us at NumberWine, that’s more or less the perfect image of spring.
Adding a little detail, this gives us:
Meeting two Italian princesses and the magical story behind their wine.
Still in the south but a little further west, getting to know Peter Sisseck and his extraordinary wine Pingus.
Heading further west still, the Douro Boys from Portugal.
Exploring the little port of Ouchy on the banks of Lake Geneva and the legendary Beau-Rivage hotel.
Staying on riverbanks, this time the Gironde overlooking the river: Château de Grattequina is the ideal starting point for exploring Bordeaux’s vineyards in springtime.
We’ve also spent a bit of time testing out those anise-flavoured drinks that are so evocative of lost and/or found time. That precious time when you’d love to be able to press “pause” for a few moments, with a glass of pastis in your hand.
The winter we’ve just left behind us was very long, we deserve those glass-of-wine-for-the-sake-of-it moments more than in previous years.
So I’ve told you loud and clear: at NumberWine we’ve moved on to springtime, gentler yet more energetic than summer at the same time; and suggest you all do the same.
